Trekking Permit
A special trekking permit is a must necessary to visit restricted areas mentioned below. To visit normal trekking areas, no permission is required. Restricted areas which have been opened only for group trekkers.
The following restricted areas are open only for group trekkers, and a trekking permit will not be issued to individual trekkers for such areas.
The Department of Immigration located at Kalikasthan, Dillibazar, Kathmandu issues permit for foreign tourists who intend to trek in controlled areas of Nepal.
A trekking permit is a must to travel to controlled areas mentioned below. Permit, however, is issued only to groups. Individual trekkers will not be issued trekking permit. The following restricted areas are open only for group trekkers, and a trekking permit will not be issued to individual trekkers for such areas.
The areas and required fees are as follows: (Effective from 17th July 2019)

5 | Kanchanjunga | For the first 4 weeks per week per person US$ 20, after 4 weeks per week per person US$ 25, or equivalent any convertible foreign currency. |
6 | Lower Dolpa | For the first week per person US$ 20, after 7 days per day per person US$ 5 or equivalent any convertible foreign currency. |
7 | Gaurishanker and Lamabagar | Per week per person US$ 20 or equivalent any convertible foreign currency. |
8 | Tsum Valley | From September to November for the first week per person US$ 40 after 7 days per day per person US$ 15 or equivalent any convertible currency. From December to August for first week per person US$ 30 and after 7 days per day per person US$ 10 or equivalent any convertible currency. |

Note:
- Pay only the Difference:
Climbers climbing the mountains in the area of Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpa can pay their royalty only the differences if it is less than the permit fee. - Payable in Nepali Currency:
Indian trekkers can pay their permit fee in Nepali currency as per same day’s exchange rate.
