Kanchanjunga Trekking in Nepal

General Overview

Kanchanjunga Trek is considered a technical trek and suitable for those who moderately fit and have a sense of adventure. The trek designs for acclimatizing you gradually and not to experience high altitude sickness. However, you need to check your altitude fitness and its path. We suggest you strengthen your knee muscles and prepare for several days of steep descents. As this trek is arrange on a factual basis and also can change in some circumstances but adjustments will have to make during the trekking.

This is a long and challenging hike around Mt. Kanchanjunga while visiting both North and South Base Camp. This trail explores around Kanchanjunga which is the third highest mountain in the world. Trekkers, hikers may observe a wide range of scenery from lush, tropical jungle through to rhododendron. As well as chestnut and oak forests and then at higher altitudes into the alpine zone. You will see a range of Nepalese culture and lifestyle from Rai and Limbu to Tibetan Buddhist villages.

The route starts by approaching the north side of Kanchanjunga where you see views of Tent peak, Nepal peak, Cross peak and then at Base Camp Kanchenjunga itself becomes visible. From Pangpema the trek returns to Ghunsa and then crosses the Mirgin La pass over to the south side of Kanchanjunga. Once over this pass, we visit the yak pastures of Ramche and Oktang where there are impressive views of the southwest face of Kanchenjunga.

We request you be flexible with a situation to enjoy natural beauty, the natural vegetation of this region. As Kanchanjunga Trek is known for camping arrangement. Mainly, Sherpa and Porter's team arrange all the arrangement during the trek. Also, cook carries the equipment, set up the camp and prepared hot meals waiting for us at every food break. We will cater this trek with alpine style offering also for the nature lovers.

Itinerary

Day 01: Welcome at Kathmandu airport and drive to Hotel, short briefing about the programs and overnight at hotel on B/B
Day 02: Preparation for Trekking after breakfast meet the tour guide and visit some heritage sites in Kathmandu.  Overnight at hotel on B/B
Day 03 : Fly to Biratnagar, overnight at hotel with foods
Day 04 : Fly to Suketar and start trek to Lali Kharka (2200 m).  Overnight at tented camp with full board
Day 05 : Trek to Keswa (2100 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 06 : Trek to Mamanke (2000 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 07 : Trek to Yamphudin (1650 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 08 : Trek to Lamite Jungle Camp (2920 m), overnight at tented camp with full board
Day 09 : Trek to Torontan (3080 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 10 : Trek to Tseram (3750 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 11 : Trek to Ramche (4360 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 12 : Exploration day around Rameche, overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 13 : Trek to Beyond Mirgin-La, overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 14 : Trek to Ghunsa (3475 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 15 : Trek to Kyapra (2300 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 16 : Trek to Sakathum (1600 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 17 : Trek to Chirwa (1180 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 18 : Trek to Phurumba, overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 19 : Trek to Suketar (2300 m), overnight at tented camp with full board.
Day 20 : Fly to Kathmandu via Biratnagar, overnight at hotel on B/B
Day 21 : Rest in Kathmandu, overnight at hotel on B/B
Day 22 : Transfer to airport, departure on your own destination.
