General Overview
Langtang, Gosainkunda, Helambu trek is also known as cultural heritage and pilgrimage trekking in Nepal. It has three different trekking routes separately and they are as follows:
Langtang Trek
Langtang trek is an amazing audacious trek with spectacular views of the Himalayas. It has vast number of exciting ethnic encounters. The attractions are the rhododendron and bamboo forests with plenty of wildlife, majestic waterfalls. Langtang, Gosainkunda, Helambu Trek begins from Kathmandu with a bus ride to Dhunce or Syabrubesi. It is an interesting village lies on the banks of the Bhote Kosi River. The trail gains elevation along the way Langtang Khola. Firstly, pass through forests of oak and rhododendron and then bamboo forests on the higher part of the trekking. While traveling through Langtang (3,430 m), we will reach the Langtang Valley and the friendly Sherpa village of Kyanjing Gompa (3,870 m). At Kyanjing Gompa we will experience the spiritual lifestyle of dedicated Buddhist monks. Early in the morning, we will ascend Tserko Ri (5,000 m) for a remarkable view of the Langtang Lirung (7,200 m) range.
Gosainkunda Trek
Gosainkunda, with an altitude of 4360 m. and trek to Gosainkunda means a trek to Gosainkunda Lake which is famous pilgrimages sites of Hinduism and Buddhism. We have a mythical believe on the formation of this lake. We believe that the lord Shiva created the lake by piercing the ground with his trident to obtain water and relieve his burning throat. The lake is also considered a significant site associated with the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The lake is also an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake in Nepal's Langtang National Park, located at an elevation of 4,380 m .This is a magnificent place in Langtang region. It is the greatest lake and composed of 108 lakes in this area. Moreover, you can observe amazing spectacular views of mountains along with forest and other natural vegetations of this region.
Helambu Trek
Helambu, the mid-elevation region to the Park's south, is a study center of Tibetan Buddhism. This area is the enriched habitat for Red Panda and other significant wild lives. The ancient ethnic settlement of this region is Lama, Sherpa, and Tamang. They are also maintaining their livelihood cultural heritage. Richly carved wooden windows, lively dance festivals, and skilled weaving traditions of these inhabitants bring more attraction for trekkers.
Trekkers can also enjoy sights of these trekking routes. Hiking duration and overnight camps are well planned for normal hiking pace with proper acclimatization. However, the trail grade starts from moderate to challenging. All trailheads are also accessible by bus or private transports from Kathmandu.
